Paramedical Enzyme Skin Revision

How to keep your youth – or get it back

Paramedical Enzyme Skin Revision is the foundation of Andresa’s skin health programs. All of our practitioners are proud to be recognised as specialists in the practice of Dr Danné Montague-King (DMK) paramedical skin revision therapies.

DMK treatment therapies and formulas eradicate and manage skin conditions such as acne, rosacea, inflamed sensitive skins as well as ageing or sun-damaged skin. Paramedical Enzyme Skin Revision restores the natural balance and health of the skin, resulting in long-term radiance.

Unlike general cosmetic products, which have an effect only on the surface of the skin, DMK formulas incorporate the purest and most active blend of vitamins, amino acids and botanical ingredients to target the deeper levels of the skin, producing significantly better results than any other product based facial treatment. Dead cells – a build-up of which contributes to poor skin function, health and appearance – are removed using the unique DMK enzyme treatments, which are tailored to the needs of each skin condition. It is these unique botanical enzymes which help to remove skin impurities and encourage an increase in oxygen and nutrient uptake by the skin cells. This in turn, promotes collagen and elastin synthesis, improving the underlying support and suppleness of the skin.

In order to restore the skin to optimal health, bespoke formulas are used and blended at the time of each treatment and are tailored not only to the needs of the individual’s skin, but also to what the skin can cope with according to its current state at the time of each treatment. If the skin is in poor health, it will require support before it is ready for further stimulation and rejuvenating ingredients or therapies.

How it works:

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about the Paramedical Enzyme Skin Revision Treatment

What is Enzyme Skin Revision?

Enzyme skin revision is a programme of intense facial treatments using bioactive pharmaceutical-grade ingredients, and is designed to optimize skin health, by revising it and rebuilding its health from the deeper layers. This is achieved by decongesting the skin, restoring its internal balance and rebuilding the health of the underlying structures, making it more resilient to the signs of ageing, which in turn is reflected in a rejuvenated appearance. Additional therapies may be recommended in conjunction with enzyme revision, such as IPL, Laser Lift treatment and skin peels, and you will usually be advised to use a skincare programme at home, using ingredients of a similar strength to those used during treatment.

How does Enzyme Skin Revision work?

Botanical enzymes and acids are used to cleanse the skin and remove deadcell build-up. Blood flow is increased by the treatment so that the toxins which are congesting the skin and impairing its function can be eliminated more easily. This also facilitates nutrient and oxygen uptake, encouraging a clearer, cleaner complexion. Production of elastin and collagen is stimulated so that the underlying supporting structure of the skin can be rebuilt, which is especially important as the skin ages. Finally, the acid mantle, the protective surface layer of the skin, is restored, providing protection from external damage. The ingredients used are blended at the time of each treatment, and are tailored not only to the needs of the skin in order to restore it to optimal health, but also to what it can cope with according to its current state at the time of each treatment; if skin is in poor health, it will require support before it is ready for harsher rejuvenating ingredients or therapies.

How many treatments will I need?

A course of four to six treatments is usually recommended, but this depends on how much the skin needs to recover from poor health in order to function optimally. You may be advised of dietary and lifestyle changes to implement, which will further improve skin health, reducing recovery time and dependence on clinical treatments.

Are there any side effects or is there any downtime?

These are not feel-good facials: capillaries are opened up quite significantly during treatments to encourage nutrient and oxygen uptake and facilitate elimination of toxins. Consequently, the face looks quite flushed afterwards, and may take a few days to settle down. Additionally, as toxic by-products are brought to the surface from the underlying congested layers, skin can sometimes look worse for a while before it improves: it is a common and normal response for skin to become temporarily dry, itchy, sore and swollen after treatment, possibly with outbreaks of pimples.

Will the results be seen straight away?

Sub-optimal skin health usually takes several treatments to improve substantially in the longer term, so that a consistent rejuvenated appearance is achieved, but once the side effects of the treatment have disappeared, skin is noticeably brighter and clearer.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about ENZYME SKIN REVISION FOR ACNE AND ROSACEA

What is Enzyme Skin Revision?

Enzyme skin revision is a programme of intense facial treatments using bioactive pharmaceutical-grade ingredients, and is designed to eradicate or manage chronic skin conditions, such as acne and rosacea, by revising the skin and rebuilding its health from the deeper layers. This is achieved by decongesting the skin, restoring its internal balance and rebuilding the health of the underlying structures, making it more resilient to persistent skin problems in the long term. Additional therapies may be recommended in conjunction with enzyme revision, such as photodynamic LED therapy, microdermabrasion, skin peels and laser therapy, as well as a skincare programme to use at home, using similar products.

How does Enzyme Skin Revision work?

Botanical enzymes and acids are used to cleanse the skin, remove dead cell build-up and destroy bacteria. Blood flow is increased by the treatment so that the toxins which are congesting the skin and impairing its healing can be eliminated more easily. This also facilitates nutrient and oxygen uptake, helping to improve healing and encouraging a clearer, cleaner complexion. Production of elastin and collagen is stimulated so that the underlying supporting structure of the skin, which is often destroyed by acne, can be rebuilt. Finally, the acid mantle, the protective surface layer of the skin, is restored, to protect the skin and improve skin immunity. This provides immediate support while the skin is inflamed or infected, and also helps it to start functioning normally so that ultimately it can heal itself. The ingredients used are blended at the time of each treatment, and are tailored not only to the needs of the skin in order to restore it to optimal health, but also to what it can cope with according to its current state at the time of each treatment.

How many treatments will I need?

This depends on the severity of the underlying skin problem and on the willingness to commit to making recommended changes to diet and lifestyle in order to reduce inflammation and improve immunity from the inside. Clinic treatments usually become less frequent as the skin becomes stronger and is able to function normally and heal itself

Are there any side effects or is there any downtime?

These are not feel-good facials: capillaries are opened up quite significantly during treatments to encourage nutrient and oxygen uptake and facilitate elimination of toxins. Consequently, the face looks quite flushed and angry afterwards, and may take a few days to settle down. Additionally, as toxic by-products are brought to the surface from the underlying congested layers, skin can sometimes look worse for a while before it improves: it is a common and normal response for skin to become temporarily dry, itchy, sore and swollen after treatment, possibly with more spots or even a considerable acne breakout.

Will the results be seen straight away?

No. Chronic skin conditions take several months of both treatment and client commitment to improve. It is important to understand that this is because a significant reduction in the level of acidification in the body and therefore the skin, as well as improved skin healing by a stronger immune system, will take several months.
