Hyperpigmentation

Sunlight, environmental factors and the natural ageing process all contribute to the development of brown spots, skin pigmentation and freckles, and are usually of most concern on the face, hands and chest.. Skin hyperpigmentation can also occur during pregnancy due to dramatic hormonal changes, producing lesions

known as melasma. Pigmented lesions are caused by excess production of melanin in the skin by melanocyte cells, occurring in the epidermis or the dermis or, in the case of melasma, both.

At Andresa, we offer laser treatment, either in the form of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) or the ClearLift Laser to improve the appearance of hyperpigmentation, by breaking down the melanin in the lesions within the dermis and epidermis.
